Dr. Follweiler specializes in the art and science of periodontal medicine and we have been creating and maintaining healthy smiles on the Treasure Coast for over 30 years. Periodontology involves the treatment of the supporting foundations of the teeth; the gum tissues and the bone structure.
In our office your safety and comfort are top priorities. We strive to keep our patients well educated regarding every aspect of their treatment and we are always available to discuss your questions and concerns. We work very closely with all referring dentists and your other health care providers. We are keenly aware of the healthy body/ healthy mouth connection. Periodontal disease has been linked to heart and lung problems, diabetes and premature and low birth weight babies. If left untreated periodontal disease may affect other systems in the body.
Since coming to the Treasure Coast over 30 years ago Dr. Follweiler and his staff have had the opportunity to participate in various community activities and educational experiences. Our variety of postgraduate courses and membership in several study clubs have allowed our dental team to learn, grow and stay current with the many advances in periodontal treatment. Dr. Follweiler is a member of the American Dental Association, The Florida Academy of Periodontists, The American Academy of Periodontists as well as the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Seattle Study Club. Our dental team has also participated in several programs in our school system.
